About the Micronesia Calendar
Micronesia is a geographical area full of incredibly diverse peoples and atoll and island cultures in the north central and western Pacific Ocean. It runs from the Republic of the Marshall Islands in the east to the Republic of Palau in the far southwest. It encompasses and area the size of the United States but has only a tiny landmass as Micronesia means “tiny islands”. The Marshalls, The Federated States of Micronesia (Kosrae, Pohnpei, Chuuk and Yap), Guam, The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and Palau are all part of the amazing expanse of ocean featured in this colorful calendar. Marshall Islands, Kosrae, Pohnpei waterfalls, Chuuk atoll islands, Yap, Guam, Luta, Saipan and Palau are all featured. Printed in high quality color at Graphic Center, the images are suitable for framing once the month has passed.
About the Photographer
Photographer TIM ROCK has been a Guam resident for decades and specializes in scenic, underwater and nature images of Guam and Micronesia. Rock has travelled the world creating diving guides and other books. He has done work for international companies like National Geographic, Lonely Planet, Smithsonian, Pacific Below Magazine and numerous publishers from the Pacific Rim and worldwide.
His passion for the region and his home island of Guam can be seen in the vibrant photos and books he creates showing the unique aspects of the natural formations and island architecture seen around the villages and shorelines of this special region in the north central and western Pacific known as Micronesia.
